About MeMy name is Kevin Chapman, I am a Senior at Ocean View High School. It is amazing how time flies, one minute you don't worry about anything except having fun and before you know it you have to worry about College and getting a job and starting a career. Don't get me wrong I enjoy having all of this responsibility and maturity, it just seemed like time went by much faster than I expected it to. Seventeen years went by like it was a month, in fact high school went by as if it was just a year. It just seems like I didn't really live my childhood to the fullest. As if I had things that I wanted to do when I was too little so I didn't get accomplish them. But, there are things that I wouldn't do again; just little childish things that I didn't get to experience, or really want to, or I just don't remember. When I was growing up my parents exposed me to tons and tons of different activities from sports to music. In the sports world my mother played volleyball and also coached soccer while my dad swam in High School and College and also played water polo. Having them be very athletic exposed me to many sports. I ended up playing volleyball and soccer. I have been a huge sports fan ever since. Also, in my house when I was little my mom would have my brothers and I listen to Musical Productions such as The Phantom of the Opera and Starlight Express, and at the same time my dad would expose us to heavy metal bands. So, my brothers and I grew up with very different types of music. On one hand I was listening to all of the soft melodic songs from musical productions. But, on the other hand I would listen to bands like Metallica and Pantera. Believe it or not, having those two very different styles of music all throughout my life has made me very unique in many ways with music. Now, since I have been taking bass guitar and guitar lessons, I have also been exposed to jazz, blues, show tunes, metal (you name it I have probably listen to it throughout my life). In the areas of music and sports, I have been really lucky because I have so many different musical backgrounds I can draw from, and I can also appreciate all kinds of music. Along with All different kinds of sports. |
